2. Krang Suri falls

3. Mawphlang Sacred Forest

The holy forest has a stunning life type of plants, blooming trees, orchids, and butterflies. A perfect site for nature sweethearts. There is just one principle, to be followed in this holy woods that is – “You can’t remove anything from this timberland, else the divinity gets upset”. What grows in here stays here.

4. Living root bridges

This is the most famous bridge in Cherrapunji and human’s finest creation of all time. Of all the living root bridges in Meghalaya, the double-decker root bridge in Cherrapunji and the single-decker root bridge in Shillong are the distinctive bridges in the world and make for the foremost attraction in the northeast.                

5. Mawsmai Fall

An awe-inspiring cascade rising out of the slopes. This is known to be one of the highest waterfalls in India. It is also called the Seven Sisters Waterfalls or Nohsngithiang Falls. It is a great normal miracle.

 Cherrapunji, with foggy and feathery mists painting the blue sky, rich green valleys, frothing, and sprinkling white brooks, everything in Cherrapunji resembles a striking composition that leaves the vacationers wonderstruck. Other Myriad waterfalls such as the Nohkalikai Falls, which is the fourth highest waterfall in the world, the Dainthlen Waterfalls, and the Kynrem Waterfalls are the major attractions in Cherrapunji. 

6. Dawki

The city becomes a major attraction of tourist activities especially during the spring months as it hosts the boat riding competition on the Umngot River. The surrounding gorgeous greenery, the cold water of the lush river, and the beautiful suspension bridge on the River Umngot make Dawki even more exciting. 

Meghalaya has three Mongoloid clans and numerous unmistakable dishes like Narikol or Khapse to entertain yourself or appetizing dishes like Khar, Zan, or Gyathuk to satisfy your taste buds.

1. Doh Khlieh

Doh Khlieh is a Scrumptious Traditional Salad. It is a typical Khasi pork dish and everyone has their style of making it. Basically, made up of minced pork, onions, and chilies.

 2. Pumaloi

One of the favorite rice dish of Meghalayan cuisine. Pumaloi essentially means powdered rice, which has been steamed. Stuffed with raw grated coconut, this delicacy reflects a unique part of the Khasi culture.

3. Jadoh

It is especially appetizing because of its rich and unique blend of flavors and color. Jadoh is red rice, cooked with generous amounts of pork meat. Sometimes, it also cooked with chicken or fish. It’s like a pulse and tastes incredible.

4. Dohneiiong

One of the most beautiful, attractive, and brightening dishes of the Khasi culinary custom, Dohneiiong is a sauce based pork dish cooked in dark sesame seed glue. With an unmistakable hearty flavor, it’s pork sweethearts amuse. 

5. Kyat

Kyat the Meghalayan brew drink made up of fermented rice which has a unique flavor to relish. every occasion is incomplete without Kyat. Indeed it’s a very tasty drink. everyone should try this drink once in a lifetime.
